Furniture Maker's Statement:

The rich history of furniture design gives me endless opportunities to interpret it as a contemporary artist-blacksmith. I have no strong attraction to making furniture with primarily sculptural purposes or sculpture that assumes the role of furniture.
My furniture gives a clear sense of comfort: Comfort in its functional purpose; comfort in it’s craftsmanship; comfort in its time and space; and comfort to behold.
I think a piece of furniture only becomes a work of art when the design and the craftsmanship inspire each other and meld into a single accomplishment.
Hand crafted steel is a versatile and beautiful material for furniture. The hand worked element is what satisfies me in a completed piece.
